When it comes to wellness....be it of body , mind or soul....dont look for solutions to address issues impacting on a balanced lifestyle if you not ready to admit and embrace that which you like the least in yourself.
Half measures do not work in general and, the same applies when looking to address ones wellness.
Mindset and mindfulness...the key to any beginning.
Mindset = dedication, engagement, persistence and resilience. The embrace.
Nothing is a quick fix...instant gratification is the dupe to living a lifestyle numbed and dumbed.
Mindfulness - without judgement but, focused and intentional. Pussy footing and excusing that which one knows is the problem in ones life requires a psychological shift.
Baby steps.
Living in the present.
Mindful meditation. What is that?
Well. The way I see it, it is sitting with yourself without filters and with no fear of judgement .
It is like looking in....the very essence that actually plays a major role in who YOU are and many times hide that part of self from others....BUT IS visible by the choices one makes.
That action - reaction thing.
From smoking to eating to drinking to binging ....to drugging.
Self inflicted...even if one may claim it is out of ones control.
It is not an easy process. It can be bewildering because that which you may have thought was your downfall, may in fact, have nothing to do with asking for change, longevity and a balance in ones life.

Having that laugh, even a tear or two...BUT getting to know yourself is the target and aim and embracing every part of that element no matter what society on the whole may think.
