Funny how people take propaganda and turn it into the truth. I know exactly the kind/ group that are quick to believe any nonsense spewed towards this movement.
Why is it wrong for South Africans to hold their government accountable and say they should deal with illegal immigrantion... I don't see any true South African who has been affected by illegal immigration standing against this movement.
The real beneficiaries of illegal immigrantion are the ones who hire foreigners for exploitation and nothing else hence they easily believe the lies spread about South Africans standing up for their country. When we don't want to succumb to exploitation we are called lazy.

South Africans don't go abroad to become criminals in other countries and Southies know when it's time to come back home when they are abroad. Prisons have both Southas and illegal immigrants but I'll say Southas committed crime in their country and are detained in their homeland.
You hardly read about South African criminals abroad...we don't visit other countries to cause chaos.
The only 2 Southas I know of lately that were arrested for shoplifting abroad are Peet and Mel Viljoen and its not like they entered the US without proper documentation cos we don't do that as Southas.I don't know what got into their heads cos South Africans hardly go abroad to commit crime.

You're making a lot of assumptions about who I am and what my views are based on, while speaking with certainty about things you don't know about my background or experience.
I'm not Black, but I don't form my views in isolation. I speak to people, I listen, and I take seriously what I hear from communities affected by these issues.
The reality is that many of the communities most directly affected by undocumented migration are Black communities. If you're not living that reality, then maybe you should not make your own assumptions based on your privileged perspective.

Does South Africa have problems without illegal migrants? Of course it does. The government is still shit. Crime is still rampant. Unemployment is still fucked.

But the resources required to deal with the above local issues are stretched by ALSO having to deal with issues from migrants.

In a wholly abundant society, there'd be a lot less noise about it. That's also why you hear more complaints from those who are already struggling and hear shaming from those who can afford to distance themselves from it.

Issues brought over by illegal migrants are not all of the issues that South Africa has but they are a subset of issue that we wouldn't have to deal with if we had a better handle on migration.

Anyone that thinks that locals are hallucinating is probably insulated from the issue.

I didn't even consider if u black or white or any other spectrum on the race card.
READ.
Nor did I presume or assume your credentials either.

Pretty obvious you read rather than do.

Come with me on one of our walkabout and tell me what YOU have done to better the effects of a failed corrupt government?

Plus this quoting YOU directly...

"...If you're not living that reality, then maybe you should not make your own assumptions based on your privileged perspective.."

Smacks of assumptions and presumption.

You know me?
Privileged perspective?

Grin.

I think take your own advise.

Where did I say you assumed my skin colour? I opted to mention it. You are the presumptuous one here.
I do not need to know you to know the privilege you hold as a white woman, I myself am white and am 'woke' enough to understand what that means.
I can also promise you I have had more conversations with people who this actually affects, than you have. That is clear from the kak you talk.

...and there we have it.

Lets personalise it ...a typical defense as is insult hurling when common sense fails and one has no courage to admit to truths adding to the sad reality of those suffering that shall continue simply because , like you, to point outwards is common instead of looking onwards and asking...what can I do to help those in need.

But, you won't. It aint in your genetics.

Did I say me , Tigolebitties?

You definitely guilty of personalising and the insults are brewing.

:)

As I said in my previous posts, a failed education system is definitely one of the root causes of a crumbling state

"Why is it wrong for South Africans to hold their government accountable and say they should deal with illegal immigrantion"

There absolutely nothing wrong in doing it.

My question is why do the South Africans not also hold their goverment accountable and say they should deal with Corruption, GBV, murder, gang voilence, etc.

Why do these South Africans think that they have the right to intimidate and physical harm foreigners, because the SA Goverment is not doing anything about illegal immigrants.

Do two wrongs make a right. NO it does not.

So the problem is with Goverment, then deal with Goverment, not with immigrants, as it will not solve the problem. Don't vote the same goverment into power again. Vote for MKP and let them steal even more from the taxpayers money ment for service delivery than current bunch.

Those leaving today will be back in a month or two when the dust have settled.

The problem will remain because Goverment is to busy enriching themself than to worry about illegal immigrants.

Pro tip. Ignore her. She insulted you first by questioning your education and making assumptions about you.

We are used to threads being derailed by her and her bad grammar unfortunately.

She, and a lot of others in this thread, are speaking from ivory towers. They read some online forums and comments and think they have it figured out when all they have is a perspective.
