This is such a clusterfuck of a situation/topic and it's an all-round lack of empathy that will ensure it does not get solved.

On one hand, its fucked that there are people who have ticked all the right boxes, got all the papers, are respecting all the laws and genuinely here to add value. Protestors will not have the nuance or means to distinguish them from those who they say they are protesting against. There is not enough empathy for these people who will be affected.

On the other hand, this was always coming. Illegal immigration is still a crime. And in a society that cannot cater for its own, where people CANNOT find jobs despite trying for YEARS and where the government does not give a fuck to meaningfully address either the shortage of general opportunity or the sense that the opportunity is being "shared" with people who get to operate under a different less stringent set of rules, this was always going to happen. There is also not enough empathy for these very real grievances either.

Instead, attempts to label and shame them has just emboldened people to take things into their own hands.

Shame won't fix this. Only genuine empathy will.

No one across this entire spectrum is crazy. They just have to live with a different oppositional set of circumstances and the unaffected people who have the power to solve it don't care to.

And so the cookie begins to crumble...

Interesting coming from Malema. Smacks and points to that debilitating pandemic called entitlement.

30 plus years into democracy and the poor are poorer and equality is a farce claimed by those in seats of power keeping the nation uneducated and misinformed, who gladly and willingly finance the governments nepotism and corrupt lifestyles including those of their family and friends.

Bring back education!
Make it the backbone of a growing society producing future leaders SA so desperately needs, leading to critical thinkers asking the right questions and developing longterm sustainable RELEVANT programmes to grow a society, that is divided and segregated presently.

This thread is much like the ROAR threads that get started by trolls on the forum. It took one WG going back home for the OP to have a change of heart?

Sure...

Just to stay on topic, I'm glad most of my regulars are locals. I am in support of the idea of the movement but I have picked up elements of hate and Zulu nationalism in some of their messaging. That could get dangerous.

The generalization is what has led to the xenophobia.

I lay the blame FULLY at the doorstep of a failed corrupt government who has molly coddled the locals, brought up in an environment of entitlement ,segregation and hatred .
Mediocrity is too good for the locals.
Younglings allowed to drink , smoke be disruptive in an educational setting ,make babies and then get a condoned pass in grade 12 at the age of 22...?
Absent parents, the burden of economic failure.

And when one talks about the porous borders where the good and bad come through, where a blind eye is turned toward the criminal faction, in fact to lie in bed with the criminal ring leaders, government officials to set up time wasting tax payers money, commission after commission with no results, killing off the whistle blowers.

No
No.

The worst criminal is the one SA has voted into power, the one that allows the SA citizen to get away with laziness , mediocrity and be part of the same crime blamed on foreigners.

No
No

SA , YOU asked for this . YOU allowed it to happen under your watch.

And now YOU say the good people , the ones that kept the economy going, are to blame for YOUR laziness and absurd notion of entitlement.

I feel sorry for the legal hardworking foreigners who have been lumped in with the criminals.

Even worse.

The BEST of the foreigners will leave while the criminal faction shall remain. Very typical of a corrupt government.

What a fucking joke.

Are any of you black? Do any of you know what the actual reality is, or are you speaking from a view point only privileged white people would have?
You have no idea what black people go through in their communities at the hands of these undocumented migrants, and should rather hush if you've never been in their shoes. Educate yourselves and stop being ignorant. A lot of these people are selling drugs to their kids, trafficking people, murdering, thieving, and god knows what else.

The sad part is, is that the bad people will most likely stay, while the innocent people (such as ladies on here) who harm nobody will most likely get kicked out.

And our Prisons are full of undocumented forneigners quilty of commiting all these crimes you mention, with hardly any locals in there.

Sorry for the rude awakening, but our own people are just as quilty of all those crimes. The prisons are full of locals not foreigners.

Our goverment officials are stealing from the people, taking the money suppose to be use for service delivey, but they get voted in election after election.

About time we start educating the voters into not creating their own hardship voting criminals into goverment and keeping them there.

We have become a favorable location for illegal immigrants from the rest of the Africa. They feel comfortable coming here and committing crime. Look at the state of cdb, its full of illegal undocumented immigrants who are hijacking buildings and disrupting the infrastructure. There aren't enough jobs to go around for south africans let alone illegal immigrants which then means that most of them will resort to crime.

And THIS is why education is desperately needed .

The privileged black spewing propaganda that, suits their cause keeping their own misinformed uneducated, voted in year after year, not on performance BUT skin colour....playing to the pain and hatred

Tell me. How many people, and I mean PEOPLE , first voted and secondly, voted after reading the manifesto of political parties.
Voting NOT for pipe dreams and false promises repetitive election after election.

I laugh in your face with a sadness in my heart.

As to white or black.....the rainbow nation is more than that. It does include those born of black and white...coloureds, indians and any other race that has made the SA economy grow with their hard work and will and drive to make something of their life.

You want to blame someone? Look toward yourself and ask yourself...what have YOU done to make this a better country for the most impoverished who YOU say you care for and know their circumstances, even more so since the dawn of democracy.
I can take you a bet very little.
A presumption? Assumption? I dont think so.
Very few dare to walk with us when we go deep into areas where druglords protected by police are a common in neighbourhoods.

Time to be a true South African and do YOUR share to grow and better the economy.

Do you dare to put your shoulder to the grinding stone and EARN that privilege called wealth ?

South Africans are not standing up to anything.

The only reason this is getting a lot of airtime is because it has a lot of criminality associated with the people behind the movement. The same happened with Operation Dudula. A bunch of criminals who extorted foreigners for financial gain. What's worse is that this current xenophobic movement also attacks their fellow citizens based on how they look. Pathetic. It's tribalism, plain and simple. And it's nothing new.

If South Africans were standing up to anything, why do they keep voting for the same corrupt government. The real looters in the country are those who are crippling the education system, transportation system and healthcare that's meant to benefit the public. Infrastructure is f****d because of the very politicians that are being voted into power for their own selfish needs (financial security).

And what happens when they don't get an outright majority, form a coalition with their favourites so that the looting can continue. Whoever thinks a movement such as this one will make a significant change to their lives need to get their head checked.

Let's also not forget about the Constitution? One of the main reasons that crime cannot be contained - criminals from any racial, cultural background has more rights that you as the victim. The police will tell you the same thing.

The Constitution needs to have and the rot is within all spheres of government.

It really pisses me off when some South Africans don't use their brains and fall for these theatrics. Those who are telling people on this thread to educate themselves need to look in the mirror.

It pisses me off as a taxpayer because 45% of what I pay in taxes going towards funding exorbitant lifestyles of criminals and their girlfriends and mistresses.

For those who have been following the Madlanga Commission and who read the report I'm the Zondo Commission, tell me where it spoke about foreigners who are looting BILLIONS OF RANDS that were meant to build roads, improve the railway system, build schools, hospitals and a affordable housing. I'll wait...

Speaking of crime, what is the main issue the policing forces raise when it comes to active policing? The budget. There's no budget because it all gets looted. There's a reason private security companies are thriving.
