I realise that this obviously comes with a level of decreased pleasure for both parties but I am curious whether this is something that the people of the purple pages are doing? And if not, are there some Pretoria ladies open to trying it out (of course you included Ms Ella ;)) I have been a bit apprehensive of suggesting this, since I dont want it to be insulting, but we also need to be realistic about health and safety in this game.

I have had clients suggest this, and actually use them, thats how I learnt about dental dams. There was no reason for me to find it offensive or insulting. Whatever they are comfortable with suited me. As long as it is communicated begore hand and agreed on. Its a different scenario when its introduced ar meeting. The pleasure part is however the downside, but the same can be said for all safe methods, and we all got used to that.

If you can't easily get hold of a dental dam, you can make an improvised one out of a condom. Just cut through the edge before unrolling it (plenty instructions on YouTube). It's surprisingly wide and easy to use.

Regarding doxycycline, note that it does not protect from HPV (which can lead to cancer), nor from HSV. Also you can get vaccinated against the most dangerous forms of HPV. The vaccine is usually recommended for teens but if you insist then your GP can still write you a prescription even if you're middle aged.

There was another thread where a punter also suggested using cut condoms. To me it seems the safest, with a near real feel I guess. I haven't used it myself, but will try it one day
