That's a rough way to hear something like that... it hits differently when it's someone who was part of your life in a very specific, personal way , even if it wasn't a traditional relationship.... what happened

Those connections aren't "just transactions," no matter what people say. There's familiarity, moments shared, a version of you that existed in that space with her. So finding out years later, casually or indirectly, can feel... unfinished. Like you didn't get a proper closing chapter.

It's normal if it brings up a mix of things , sadness, nostalgia, even a bit of guilt for not knowing sooner. You're not overreacting to that.

Sometimes the only real way to process it is to acknowledge what it was for you. Not label it, not minimise it , just recognise that she mattered in your experience, in that chapter of your life.

And if you need something simple to ground it:

You met.
You shared something real in those moments.
And now it's part of your story.

That counts for more than people like to admit.

Fucking appreciated. This vocation is a tough one, gotta learn to have more empathy for you ladies.

Might sound strange to some, but i get you.
Had the same experience some years back.

I had hooked up with a WG on a hook up app. (I knew she was WG - had seen her ad). Met up had a great time, mutual wank, bust nuts. Went out bought her smokes and airtime etc. The next time we went out for lunch and hung out - nothing, no issues - just chill vibes. About a month later I hear she committed sui. How hectic? Like someone I'd been connecting with on a deeper than working relationship. But from far in a double life. Damn.

Are we allowed to ask who it was? Surely that's not free loading. I think with a lot of guys wondering where their favorite WG disappeared to, it could bring closure to some if it's the same person.
