Orpheus -- same happened to me too. I am also very cautious now.

But there are still punters that do what I've mentioned above.

I guess the trick is not to get too emotionally involved and have set boundaries in place from both sides, which can be easier said than done -- I admit.

One thing I have learned in this business, is that true punter 'friends' are very few and far between...

Guys are only interested in you and 'who you are', for as long as you offer your services. They are only your 'friend' for as long as you continue servicing them or there is the promise of service....this I learned the hard way when I stopped the escorting thing close to 5 years ago.

Out of literally hundreds of regular clients, clients I saw for more than 10 years every single month, many clients I genuinely thought of as friends, since I thought that we shared more than just a fuck - out of all those 'friends', when I stopped offering them what I used to, they all immediately dropped me like yesterdays news. ONLY 2 turned out to be real friends, they still stayed in contact and continued to see me regardless of not getting what they used to and even when I was not working for months on end, they still stayed in regular contact, to see how I am doing and to chat about stuff only true friends talk about, not to find out when I will be working again.

So yes, I agree with Arizona, guys are NOT really interested in who you are deep inside or in your life, they only care about the fantasy and the service that they get from you. Only once a lady has been in this industry for many years, will she come to realize that this is in fact the harsh reality - Stop offering your services to your punter 'friends' and see for how long they will remain your 'friends'.

not everybody is meant to be a friend.....even those that wish to extend the hand of friendship.

Many an acquaintance i will make in this space....many a friend not.

Apologies to all. But to be a friend is something many do not truly understand the concept of.

I will make friends....i have already....and should they let me down?.....well then so be it.

Sorry. not meant to be a derogatory post against my fellow Service Providers. Just saying it as i know....and my life has been a lengthy one with many many experiences no different from this space i occupy.

What if I told you that there are punters here (myself being one) that take ladies on dinner dates and just enjoy their company? After which each goes back to their own house without sex ever being a factor?

I have a specific WG that I always treat to lunch at least once a month. I have never even booked her for her services. She is HOT but I enjoy her as a friend.

A dear friend and fellow punter here on ESA (won't mention his name) does the same thing.

Call us crazy if you will...

Edited: As I've said, the trick is boundaries and the understanding of those boundaries by both parties...

I was very naive (surprising considering my age) in thinking of many of those clients as friends, simply because we shared so much on an intellectual and emotional level over the years. For instance talking for hours, phoning just to say hi, both sharing intimate details, crying on each others shoulders and so much more....to me, that was the very definition of friendship BUT I was wrong, yes there was a deep bond, but in reality the glue that actually held that bond together was the sex, nothing more...........

@Stormpie @ Massage Inc, stay just the way you are. There is nothing wrong with being too optimistic. I am also the eternal optimist and I also try to always see the good in the bad, but sometimes in life a person has no choice, if there is no silver lining, but to accept it and to move on.

@GreyKnight, true punter friends do exist yes, but they make up the vast minority, hence my opening statement:
