Or even easier.. rent a B&B or hotel room.

There's threats here that needs to be noted:-

1. Your valuables (wallet, licence, docs etc) need to be put in the room safe. The hotel room door is easily opened from the inside.

2. Your details are readily available at the check in counter, so if you looking for anonymity this could be compromised.

3. You are normally greeted by your name when you phone any department from the phone in the room.

Wow, that sounds like a total rip-off. Hope you put this in their reviews so no one else wastes theur money booking overnight with these unless they want the sleeping beauty 20 yewds married anniversary experience.

You can do the booking at her place or a venue like Amsterdam Lounge who cater for this too. That way you dont have to worry about having your personal life being affected.

Oh I didn't realise that venues do this- brilliant idea.

Anyone able to recommend- and how rich need i be?

Amsterdam lounge are are not like other venues. They are the only ones I know that do this. They are also very decent in terms of the price.

It was a rip off, unfortunately not ESA advertisers so I did review on here, but I have on their respective sites. I have heard from a few friends here in SA that have had similar experiences too with all nighters

Just some comments on this

1 having the safe is a good thing, all hotel room doors can be double locked

2 a decent hotel values its client privacy, and would never share information.

3, you can request the hotel to address you as Mr Smith and they will do this happily, they then change all information to Mr Smith,

Been in hospitality over 30 years the guests privacy is paramount to the hotels business

That being said you check into a Marriott or Tsogo Sun then this is the norm. You check into a seedy b&b in Sunnyside your on your own

@Jake, the next time I check into a hotel, I hope I get to have a beer with you. You would be able to show me all the decent ladies in the area, LOL

Wow thanks for the suggestions everyone.

1. How long is 'overnight' anyway? 6pm-6am. 9-5am. Sunset to sunrise?

Any standard length?
