Since day one in S.A. no clear details of the entry to S.A. has been made public. Except that the travellers came back from Italy.
How? By plane? By Boat?
When? Exact time?
Location of entry?
Movement of patient since entry?
Everyone he had contact with before entry and after?
Places he has been from time of entry up to qauranteen?
(Not just him but everyone that returned with him)
If they disclosed some of this info.. people that have been inconact with him or same areas,places at same times can go voluntarily to get tested.
Nip this thing in the butt!
Yes some panic as in yes 1000/2000/3000 people rush to docter because they where at the same spaces around the same time.
But won't the chances of stopping the spread be greater?
Now u have people walking around not in their wildest dreams ever thinking they might be at risk that might have been exposed .? And others that might never be at risk that think every thing they do is a risk?
Information is power and Not having that has two effects...

Ignorance is so bad. And views are so twisted. My 22 year old son walked down the street yesterday and he was greeted by 1 of a group of 3 youngsters his age with these words..."Awe Corona".
He came home and told me about this and that he told them to foff with their stupid comments. I asked him why they would say that. And he said that this is how youngsters are now referring to Caucasian/Chinese people infact everyone that ain't black is referred to in that way.
Do you see what lack of info is starting in our country? And this between youngsters that is suppose to be our future?!

A great characteristic of the era of instant divulgation of post-fact truthisms- any ignoramus can say that they are being denied facts by whatever obscure powers that be when the real deficit lies in their capacity to absorb what is readily available - ie a general deficit in intellectual capability as opposed to availability of data. I think a proper reading of available data will show South Africa is pretty well served in availability of fact.
An exercise in logic will also pose a valid question: would a status quo benefit from hiding the obvious?

I just googled Patient O SA travel details. Think it was wikipedia where I got the info from I posted here. All 61 patients details were there.

Louise, you do know that you cannot make someone's personal information such as that they are or were suspected to have Coronavirus public? Imagine if the media just reported on people's illnesses - Mr. X is suspected of being HIV positive.....
I'm not going to spell out the many possible consequences this could lead to.

The issue did not started in Italy. It has been going through since December.
If you only paid attention when the people were first diagnosed then it was too late.
Not all showed symptoms.
See it this way. One person comes in. Mild cold symptoms. Grabs a cup of coffee.. Touches here and there.. Infect two more people.. They also get some mild symptoms and so on.
Add that poor people make a huge amount of the population in SA.. Not all are paying attention as to how they perish.. Now you see 85 people.
People will just have the flu like normal. But some will get fucked proper.. The ones that are over 50.. With other sicknesses.. Those are as good as gone.
The SA gov did good. They closed the doors. Better than most countries.
The issue is that some South Africans were aspris and went on holidays during the corona outbreak in Europe. That is the issue. People were ignorant and did not take this seriously.
